Veronica Heath

British author. Mainly a writer of non-fictional riding, pony care and dog training books. She also wrote four pony books of the instruction/information within a book ilk, and one more traditionally fictional pony story.
Unfortunately many of these books are quite hard to find, particularly outside the UK.

The 'With Me' Books:
These were part of the Junior Sportsman's Library,  in which various country pursuits were written about in a fictional style in order to encourage children to take them up. Ms. Heath contributed three horse-related titles to the library which were a little along the same lines of A Pony in the Family, etc, by Judith Berrisford. I think the first two books follow the same characters, but the third does not. All can be read as stand-alones.

Collectors info:
I don't think any of these were reprinted. Not particularly common books, However they are usually not too expensive to buy.

Other Pony Books:

SUSAN'S RIDING SCHOOL
(MARY DUNN CAREER NOVELS 1956?)
Very rare.
SUMMARY: 'Career novel' focusing on a horsy career.

PONIES IN THE HEATHER
(LUTTERWORTH 1959)
ILLUSTRATED BY JENNIFER KENT
SUMMARY: A group of children on holiday in Scotland decide to form their own pack of hounds.

Collectors info:
Ponies in the Heather is the easiest of the pair to find and cheapest to buy, Susan's Riding School is very rare and will be expensive. The author's non-fictional works (not featured here) are however pretty easy to find.
